Is it true that April showers bring May flowers? Apparently so.
This past Sunday at the Houston Village Farm deli on 1st Avenue and 4th st., the cut flowers were in bloom right on the city’s sidewalks. At 11 a.m. in the m orning the deli received delivery of another ‘garden’ of floral decoration which immediately attracted buyers.
Though I was not one of the buyers this time, some of my favorite flowers – including the elegant spider lily – were represented. If you look at the picture, the white flowers that have the net surrounding them are the spider lilies.
I’ll likely pony up this weekend for an arrangement in that the apartment is looking a bit stark in comparison to the blossoming spring outside.
